How to recognize hazardous waste? Below are some guidelines:
As per the California State Department of Toxic Substances Control (DTSC) and the EPA, waste products may be considered hazardous if they exhibit any of the following four characteristics:
- Corrosive
- Flammable/Combustible
- Reactive/Volatile
- Toxic

- Explosives
- Petroleum refining
- Veterinary pharmaceuticals
- Secondary lead processing
